What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead.

Menstrual Equity Project

The Help A Girl Out drive is bringing back dignity and confidence to women and girls who struggle with period poverty. With the support of our community and our partners’ dedication to the movement, we continue to provide necessary products to menstruators throughout Berks and Schuylkill Counties.

Since the first HAGO drive held in February 2022, to 2025 and beyond—we are committed to deepening our reach, knowledge, and impact.

There’s a lot of stigma around this issue,” Suzanne shares. “I just want to bring awareness to this very upsetting need here in our community. No woman should have to miss work and no girl should have to miss school because they’re getting their period. It’s time to change that.
— Suzanne Cody, Help A Girl Out Co-Founder

Impact Through Growth

Collection statistics for a women's hygiene products drive named Help A Girl Out in 2025, showing the number of pads, tampons, baby diapers, wipes, period underwear, menstrual cups, and adult diapers collected, with a total of 86,151 items, and a highlighted 82% increase, started in 2022, with 47,314 units collected in 2024.

Expanding HAGO’s impact continued during the 2025 drive held throughout the month of February. Linking arms and resources with two cornerstone nonprofit partners – Co-County Wellness Services and Helping Harvest, made it possible to support menstruators throughout Berks County, as well as Schuylkill County.

2 in 5 women struggle to purchase period products due to lack of income.
