Combating Period Poverty
Since its inception in 2021, The Help a Girl Out grassroots effort focuses on providing essential feminine products and diapers to those in need. Through HAGO, the community can help provide women and girls in Berks and Schuylkill Counties with period products so they may participate in everyday activities with dignity.
Now in its fifth year, the Help a Girl Out campaign collects diapers, pads, tampons, period underwear, and wipes - essentials that span a lifetime of needs. With an astounding 82% increase in last years drive, the community continues to come together to combat an often-overlooked public health crisis for menstruators of all ages.

1 in 7 women and girls age 12 to 44 in Pennsylvania, live below the poverty line. This lack of access forces some women to miss work and causes 1 in 4 teens in the U.S. to miss school.
